Lovoux founder, Christina Kolovos wanted to bring to life and make tangible the type of environment she considered ideal for offering hair and beauty services, and marry that concept with her passion for session/editorial hair, as well as creating and collaborating- be it with other artists in the industry, or professionals that share her vision for cultivating harmonious energy and empowering others.
Thus, LOVOUX was born.
The name wasn’t easy on deciding; ultimately she wanted to conjure something that was meaningful to her – living authentically. Initially, she had come up with another name “Studio B U”, which was decided on after scribbling through half a note book indecisively toward the goal of finalizing a name… Driving through Danforth and Leslieville one day, not only did she discover “Studio B” on Danforth, but also “Just B” on Queen.. so ultimately she felt it was only best to part with “Studio B U” and continue brainstorming. Back and forth between words like “passion, drive, real, heart, love” she wanted to keep it simple…“Love me, Love You, Love U, Lov..oux…” L O V O U X (Also coincidentally enough, in her native language the suffix of her last name is “lovou” and her first initial, “X”)
According to her, “A friend of mine was asking me to define “LOVOUX” and see if perhaps anyone else had picked it up.. So of course, not wanting to make the same oversight twice, I ordered a NUANS report and searched extensively to confirm I was sole founder of “LOVOUX” and in that I stumbled on this http://www.whatmeanings.com/6/meaning-of/lovoux. Spooky huh?”
